Synopsis

There is no dearth of women role models in the society. While it’s time for the world to recognise the benefits of women in leadership and commit to placing even more women in positions of power, it is also time for women to step up, speak out, and equip themselves. Hence, IIM Calcutta presents ‘Transitioning into Leadership: A Programme for Women Executives’ for women who aspire to be a role model. This programme caters to the demands of the progressively growing global business ecosystem and aids women executives to upskill efficaciously.

Programme Overview

IIM Calcutta’s Transitioning into Leadership: A Programme for Women Executives (TLPWE), is a one-year, online programme. It is designed exclusively for women executives and entrepreneurs to help them hone, focus, and channelise their natural leadership qualities to emerge as successful leaders at the workplace. The programme intends to sensitise participants to the transformation of women in organisations from managerial roles to leadership positions and equips them with theoretical and applied managerial skills in a variety of executive dimensions that require leadership vision, self-exploration and understanding, skills, applications, and articulation.

Programme Details

Pedagogy

The teaching approach will be highly experiential and interactive. The pedagogy followed for the programme will be a judicious blend of participant presentations and discussions, case studies, classroom lectures and presentations by experts.

Programme Delivery

Sessions will be conducted via a state-of-the-art Interactive Learning (IL) platform and delivered in Direct-to-Device (D2D) mode that can be accessed by learners on their Desktop, Laptop, Tablet or Smartphone. Participants will be provided reading materials, etc., for each course. They may also interact with the concerned faculty through e-mails/chat mode.

Campus Immersion

There will be 4 days of campus immersion at IIM Calcutta, towards the end of the programme.
The in-campus modules are subjected to the conditions that prevail at the point of time. These conditions pertain to the pandemic or other unavoidable reasons. In case the current situation maintains the status quo, adequate alternate options with regards to the in-campus modules will be made available via online sessions.

Who Should Attend?

  • Working women professionals with at least 5 years of managerial experience in top companies who have decent operative knowledge of their jobs roles and are more likely to evolve in their current position
  • Participants demonstrating significant career achievements/leadership responsibilities
  • Women engaged in family business/entrepreneurial activities

Admission Criteria

  • The selection will be based on candidate’s application and credentials
  • Final selection of participants will be solely done by IIM Calcutta
  • Interview over Video Conferencing

Assessment and Certification

Evaluation

Evaluation Methodology
  • IIM Calcutta shall carry out the examination and evaluation required for certification.
  • Participants are evaluated based on examinations for all the courses. Participants will be given any one of the following grades: “Excellent”; “Good”; “Fair”; or “Poor.”
  • The cut-off marks for the grades will be revealed but not the actual marks obtained.
  • Participants getting not more than two “Poor” grades will get a certificate of successful completion of the programme and the course-wise grades obtained will be mentioned in the certificate.
  • Participants getting more than two “Poor” grades will get only a certificate of participation in the programme. In such cases, the grade will not be mentioned in the certificate.
  • It is mandatory for participants to attend the campus module for successful completion of the programme.

Attendance Criteria

A minimum of 75% attendance is a prerequisite for the successful completion of the programme.

Certification & Alumni Status

  • Participants who successfully meet the evaluation criteria and satisfy the requisite attendance criteria, will be awarded a ‘Certificate of Completion’.
  • Participants who are unable to clear the evaluation criteria but have the requisite attendance will be awarded a ‘Certificate of Participation’.
  • Successful participants will also be accorded IIM Calcutta Executive Education Alumni status.

Processing fee will be refunded in case the participant’s profile is rejected by IIM Calcutta

  • Fees mentioned above are exclusive of GST.
  • GST (currently @ 18%) will be charged extra on these components.
  • Any extra payment due to any change in any of the applicable taxes during the tenure of the programme will have to be borne by the students.
